ISLAMABAD: As the online Haj registration process for Hajj 2027 till 2030 is continuing, the number of pilgrims who have registered online has surpassed 308,000.
A spokesman for the Military of Religious Affairs said on Sunday registration could be completed easily through the Hajj Portal or the "Pak Hajj" mobile application.
In line with the Prime Minister's vision, the dream of a Digital Pakistan is becoming a reality, he said.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has indicated that, in the next phase, Hajj dues and payments would also be collected online.
The Hajj Management System, developed by the National IT Board, has become an efficient platform connecting intending pilgrims with the Ministry.
Among the registered applicants, 222,000 have opted for the Government Hajj Scheme while 86,000 applicants have chosen the Private Hajj Scheme.
The registered pilgrims include: 181,000 men and 127,000 women.
According to data available, 3,500 applicants hold PhD degrees, 53,000 Master's degrees, and 71,000 hold Bachelor's degrees.
The age group of 33-44 years is the largest, with 119,000 registered applicants. The number of applicants aged 61 years and above stands at 40,000.
The online registration process for Hajj 2027-2030 will continue, allowing intending pilgrims to register while sitting at home without any payments.
